About The Position
As a Manufacturing Press Technician, you'll be a key player in our production process, ensuring quality products while maintaining our equipment and safety standards. This role involves inspecting finished parts, monitoring product quality, performing preventive maintenance, operating press equipment, managing materials, and utilizing technical skills such as reading drawings and using SPC systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing experience OR demonstrated mechanical skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to safety and environmental procedures
Nice To Haves
- Previous press operation experience
- Forklift certification (training provided if needed)
- Experience with precision measurement tools
Responsibilities
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Monitor product quality and stop production when standards aren't met
- Maintain accurate production and quality records in computer systems
- Perform preventive maintenance: lubrication, safety checks, and minor repairs
- Keep work areas clean and safe from debris, oil, and hazards
- Operate and maintain press equipment following established procedures
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead hoists
- Load/unload raw materials and verify material specifications
- Transport materials efficiently in pedestrian and confined areas
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and charts
- Document production data accurately in operating systems
