About The Position

The Manufacturing Plant Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment throughout the manufacturing facility. This position supports production operations by minimizing equipment downtime, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all electrical work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and electrical codes. The ideal candidate possesses strong industrial electrical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems including: Motors and motor controls, 120V, 240V, 480V, and three-phase systems, Electrical distribution systems, PLCs and automation equipment, VFDs and drives, Hydraulics and pneumatics interface controls
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, and clamp meters.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician license, industrial electrical certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with robotics, automation systems, and industrial instrumentation.
  • NFPA 70E and Arc Flash safety training.
  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
  • Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical components, wiring, motors, control panels, transformers, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility electrical systems.
  • Replace or run new wiring for building enhancements/projects.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and electrical emergencies to minimize production downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Install and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), sensors, relays, motor controls, and instrumentation devices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Assist with machine installations, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, energy savings, and increased equipment efficiency.
