About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Planning Engineer in Palmdale, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and maintain manufacturing planning documentation, Bills of Material, and detailed electronic work instructions used to support aerospace production. The engineer will translate engineering drawings, models, specifications, and manufacturing requirements into clear, executable shop-floor planning.

Requirements

  • Experienced track: 6–9 years of relevant manufacturing planning experience.
  • Senior track: Bachelor’s degree with 16+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience.
  • Professional experience with standard manufacturing planning processes and procedures.
  • Experience with Teamcenter and/or SAP supporting Bills of Material or Shop Floor Management.
  • Professional experience with one or more of the following: iBASEt/Solumina, Computer Aided Production Planning (CAPP), Shop Order Maintenance (SOM), or 3D model navigation and interpretation.
  • Strong understanding of engineering blueprints, manufacturing process specifications, and production planning.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and other technical references.
  • Experience creating or maintaining Manufacturing Bills of Material and Order Bills of Material.
  • Strong technical writing skills for manufacturing instructions and supporting documentation.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing planning applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation or aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with model-based engineering systems such as Teamcenter and 3DX.
  • Experience collaborating directly with design, production engineering, tooling, and manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Material and Order Bills of Material.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, models, specifications, processes, policies, and procedures to determine manufacturing sequences and requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive electronic work instructions and supporting production documentation.
  • Review manufacturing planning documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Revise work instructions as engineering, tooling, or manufacturing requirements change.
  • Collaborate with designers and production engineers to interpret engineering and manufacturing requirements.
  • Translate engineering data into practical manufacturing operations and shop-floor instructions.
  • Use SAP, Teamcenter, iBASEt/Solumina, CAPP/SFM, 3DX, and related systems to support manufacturing planning activities.
  • Support program, management, and technical reviews by documenting actions and tracking items through completion.
  • Help ensure manufacturing planning accurately reflects current engineering configuration and production requirements.
