About The Position

Manufacturing Planner - New Orleans Recruiting Event - February 2026 Company: Join Boeing’s Artemis team — build on a legacy at Michoud, “America’s Rocket Factory” Imagine your work directly enabling humanity’s return to the Moon and paving the way for deep space exploration. As a Manufacturing Planner on Boeing’s Artemis program, lead in the development of the production systems and processes for the newest product to be added to the Michoud heritage, the Exploration Upper Stage. The Boeing Space Launch System (SLS) team is seeking multiple Manufacturing Planners to join the team at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate, experienced and senior level manufacturing planners. Boeing and NASA are building the world’s largest rocket for human exploration of deep space. The Space Launch System (SLS) provides a critical heavy-lift capability, powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space to enable diverse exploration, science and security missions. This position is for either first shift or a split-shift / 2nd shift (i.e. 12pm-8pm). Work shift and hours to be discussed during interview.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with manufacturing planning
  • Willing to work alternating shifts, holidays, and weekends to support customer’s needs

  • Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced education
  • Production engineering experience on the Space Launch Systems Program
  • Excels at operating in an extremely fast-paced and dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Plans and leads department/organization processes for developing, implementing and maintaining various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration
  • Develops and plans manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives
  • Prepares build analyses and cost estimate reports
  • Leads integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
  • Participates in source selection to ensure manufacturing requirements are met
  • Develops complex tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements
  • Manages tooling from initial design to end of use disposition
  • Leads investigation and resolution of complex or systemic manufacturing related issues
  • Leads teams performing producibility assessments of design concepts
  • Supports enterprise level benchmarking to incorporate best practices
  • Leads development of complex work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments
  • Develops scheduling templates for use by others
  • Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements
  • Develops and documents new job practices, techniques and standards
