This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience or 4+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)
  • Successful candidates must be able to secure Program access approval
  • Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures

  • Clarification and enhancement of existing build plans to promote standardization and ease of understanding
  • Frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers

  • Creation and publication of manufacturing graphics
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel
  • Strong knowledge of SAP

  • Understanding of the master scheduling requirements
  • Ability to take a project from start to finish
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Develops tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.
  • Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics working instructions, manufacturing data sets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material.
  • Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.
  • Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues, production & post-production problems.
  • Demonstrates configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build plan.
  • Applies process knowledge in one or more of the following areas; Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures.
