About The Position

SLB is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Planner based in Nisku, Alberta. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and coordinating production schedules to ensure materials, resources, and manufacturing capacity are aligned with customer demand. You will work closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Line teams to support efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery performance. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys working with data, and can effectively balance competing priorities. This role offers the opportunity to drive operational efficiency, improve planning processes, and play a key role in ensuring production goals are achieved while minimizing delays, shortages, and waste.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, scheduling, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with MRP processes, production scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Experience using ERP systems is required; SAP experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Planning, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Planning, manufacturing, supply chain, or project management certifications are considered assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material requirements planning (MRP), production schedules, and work order execution to support manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain planning data, item masters, and scheduling parameters within ERP systems.
  • Analyze demand, inventory, and capacity requirements to ensure materials and resources are available to meet production needs.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Shipping & Receiving, and Production teams to prioritize work and resolve scheduling challenges.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet customer commitments and delivery targets.
  • Prepare and communicate backlog, shortage, and capacity reports while proactively identifying potential disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve planning accuracy, shorten lead times, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Track and report production planning metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing facility.
