The Manufacturing Part Inspector III role is responsible for performing and verifying visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and chemical inspection functions related to source, first article, receiving, in-process, final, and test operations. This involves using company or customer-supplied drawings, equipment, and procedures. The role also includes reviewing and approving inspection/test data, inspecting complex, closed-tolerance aerospace precision machined components and/or assemblies, and producing inspection reports. The inspector will use precision measurement equipment and must possess an in-depth understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements per ASME Y14.5. This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in first article inspection of highly complex, close tolerance aerospace products. The role also involves performing inspections on surface plates using complex inspection layout equipment, operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or having a strong working knowledge of their capabilities, and witnessing/performing dimensional inspections at supplier sites (Source Inspection). Maintenance of inspection records and assisting in the corrective/preventive action process are also key responsibilities.
