Manufacturing Painter Level I & II
About The Position
Champion Window is seeking two Manufacturing Painter Level I and one Manufacturing Painter Level II. The Manufacturing Painter Level II applies basecoat to windows and component surfaces using an Sames/Kremlin Prima Air Spray System with a high degree of quality and accuracy. This role involves reviewing surfaces for defects, qualifying repairs, and potentially preparing surfaces by cleaning and priming. The painter will review production labels to identify appropriate colors, perform critical paint checks and audits (Manometer readings, viscosity tests, flow tests, nozzle pattern, tip wear test, and wet film thickness), and train other operators. The position requires maintaining area and equipment cleanliness, ensuring efficient operation to meet customer demand, and utilizing all required PPE while complying with safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Excellent Team Dynamics
- 2+ years of experience for Level I in the field of Paint/Stain application or in a related area
- 5+ years of experience for Level II in the field of Paint/Stain application or in a related area
- Advanced Spray Equipment Operation and ability to Troubleshoot
- Advanced Painting Application Techniques and Knowledge (Fan Pattern / Overlap / Speed / Film Thickness / Distance)
- Read and Interpret production labels to identify color(s) required
- Ability to decipher and understand production labels to select proper coating/color to apply.
- High Degree of Knowledge regarding painting/staining concepts, practices, and procedures.
- High attention to detail, and ability to detect defects.
- Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision
- High degree of personal quality standards, creativity and willingness to improve.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., bending, twisting, stooping, excellent dexterity.
- Must work at a fast pace, fast pace is physically demanding.
- Strong eye/hand coordination.
- Standing for long continuous hours.
- Lifting buckets of paint.
- Constant attention to detail and accuracy of material placement.
- Concentration on proper lifting and ensure floors are kept free of debris.

Responsibilities
