About The Position

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business seeking dependable people to join their team. At Charter Steel in Saukville, WI, they melt, pour, and shape steel and are looking for individuals who are not afraid of heat, hard work, and doing the job right. There are two positions available: Billet Conditioner in the Melting Department and Banding Operator. Both positions involve 12-hour night shifts with a rotating 5-2-2-5 schedule and offer a pay rate of $26.50/hr plus a $2,000 hiring bonus. Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Comfortable with basic math (like counting and simple calculations).
• Team player who works well and communicates with others.
• Background in manufacturing or industrial production, assembly, warehouse, welding, construction, metals, steel, or other hands on jobs.
• Strong safe work mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift & Overhead Crane experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Rotate through different positions throughout 12-hour shift.
• Use power tools to remove kerf from billets.
• Apply ID tags using a welding torch and mark billets with chalk.
• Place chains and spacer bars between billets.
• Perform quality inspections.
• Operate an overhead crane.
• Enter and monitor order data into the computer.
• Accurately identify coils by printing and applying tags throughout the process.
• Operate coil compactor and other coil handling equipment.
• Operate hydraulic and pneumatic hand tools.
• Operate a forklift.
• Teamwork & communication is essential in this role.
• Follow all safety & quality procedures.
