Pratt & Whitney is seeking individuals to transform the future of flight by designing, building, and servicing engines. This 2nd shift position is designed to provide individuals with little or no machining or grinding background the necessary skills to become a Certified Operator. The role involves a 3-week training program followed by 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training. Employees will learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTCs to perform routine production operations on various weldments and assemblies. They will work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instructions to set up equipment for machining operations and verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. The role also includes maintaining machines through total preventive maintenance (TPM) and collaborating with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development. The salary range for this role is $17.13 to $30.10 per hour.
