About The Position

This role is responsible for executing full-cycle production, purification, and monitoring of chemical compounds using laboratory equipment and distributed control systems to meet strict MilliporeSigma customer demands. Responsibilities include charging solids, liquids, and gases to production vessels, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and utilizing material handling equipment for safe staging and destaging. The operator will identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex day-to-day packaging and production malfunctions, taking swift corrective action upon approval to minimize operational downtime. They will perform in-process analytical testing with simple data interpretations, accurately logging all information into lab notebooks and batch records following strict Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Intermediate SAP knowledge is required for critical logistics functions, including entering work hours, managing material movements, and handling bills of materials. The role also involves fostering a proactive safety and inclusive culture, championing 6S and Operational Excellence (OPEX) initiatives, and verifying the quality and integrity of materials and equipment, while proactively suggesting revisions or drafting new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

Charge solids, liquids, and gases to production vessels, complete preventative maintenance tasks, and utilize material handling equipment (pallet mules) for safe staging and destaging.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex day-to-day packaging and production malfunctions, taking swift corrective action upon approval to minimize operational downtime.
Perform in-process analytical testing with simple data interpretations, accurately logging all information into lab notebooks and batch records following strict Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Utilize intermediate SAP knowledge to execute critical logistics functions, including entering work hours into PI sheets, managing material movements, and handling bills of materials.
Actively foster a proactive safety and inclusive culture by identifying unsafe conditions, participating in incident investigations, and documenting actionable preventive suggestions.
Champion 6S and Operational Excellence (OPEX) initiatives to optimize workflow efficiency, eliminate waste, and contribute directly to department goals.
Verify the quality and integrity of all materials and equipment, while proactively suggesting necessary revisions or drafting new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
