Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to read and understand English and Spanish.
  • Basic knowledge of computerized systems.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic English/Spanish communication.
  • Driver's license.
  • Availability to work overtime.
  • Availability to support other areas.
  • Availability to support the operation 7 days a week with special shift arrangements that may include weekends, according to business strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Executes all activities necessary for or related to the control, operation, and light maintenance of manufacturing equipment under a compliance environment.
  • Executes manufacturing activities in the Granulation, Compression, and/or Rotor areas, which determine the purity, efficacy, and integrity of the manufactured product.
  • Ensures quality and compliance in all actions, including attending Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training and strictly adhering to applicable procedures.
  • Operates machines and process equipment following all established quality, safety, and environmental instructions and precautions to meet quality, safety, environmental expectations, and production plan.
  • Performs adjustments, changes, and cleaning of equipment and/or workstations (including sanitization of rooms) according to area operational procedures, supporting production activities and complying with EHS procedures.
  • Documents all operation, cleaning, and maintenance processes in official documents or computerized systems (logs, records, etc.) as predetermined in established procedures and records, observing compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Maintains assigned areas clean, orderly, and safe to comply with safety and environmental procedures, rules, and regulations, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Obtains product samples during the process according to operational procedures.
  • Performs process tests as established in the batch record to ensure it meets product acceptance parameters.
  • Transports process material from one location to another at each stage of the process using a forklift or handjack, complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs transactions in the computerized inventory system for each stage of the process, as required by the operational procedure (certified operators).
  • Maintains direct communication with supervisors and mechanics to evaluate and prevent non-conformity situations.
  • Informs the mechanic and/or supervisor immediately about defective equipment operation or breakdowns as they occur.
  • Attends daily shift change meetings as necessary to discuss operation-relevant information to ensure operational continuity.
  • If certified, trains new operators in the area and ensures they receive adequate training as required.
  • Collects data and supports report generation, including technical evaluations and recommendations related to the operation (e.g., yield, waste, downtime, OEE, safety, quality).
  • Attends and participates in scheduled training for professional development.
  • Attends meetings and participates in committees as required by supervisor.
  • Supports equipment and process validation projects in their work area as required by supervisor.
  • Identifies, participates in, and supports continuous improvement projects and required programs/initiatives to achieve work simplification, eliminate non-value-added activities, and achieve cost reduction.
  • Supports and participates in the generation of non-conformity and deviation reports as required.
  • If verifying a process activity (e.g., documentation, task execution, equipment cleaning), ensures verification complies with GMP and documentation standards, results are within established parameters, and immediately notifies any detected deviation.
  • Properly disposes of wipes and/or material generated during process, cleaning, and maintenance tasks to prevent potential spills and/or avoid increased generation of hazardous and/or non-hazardous waste.
  • Handles high volumes of explosive material such as combustible dust, methanol, and acetone.
  • Uses personal protective equipment and established safety controls at all times to ensure environmental protection, prevent potential emissions, and avoid safety risks to the employee and/or community.
  • Supports the PSM (Process Safety Management) Program and all its elements as required by supervisor.
