About The Position

The Manufacturing Operator II performs skilled, intermediate level tasks in support of manufacturing operations within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position involves working with miniature electronic components, some smaller than a grain of rice, using microscopic and precision tools. Candidates should be comfortable performing detailed hand assembly and inspection work for extended periods. This role builds upon foundational operator capabilities and requires greater technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, and ownership of production processes. This position helps maintain predictable production output and supports new process development alongside engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience.
  • Operative/Technician roles will typically operate more complex machinery/processes
  • Ability to perform repetitive precision work with strong attention to details.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
  • Experience working under microscopes.
  • Experience in electronics assembly, SMT manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, aerospace assembly, or similar precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience handling small electronic or mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with ESD practices.
  • Experience performing visual inspections using magnification equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform intermediate level tasks with accuracy and minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, documentation, and safety protocols.
  • Must follow all required safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to use precision tools, gauges, and basic test equipment.
  • Prior experience mentoring or training team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic soldering experience a plus.
  • IPC certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and inspect complex products following detailed work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform precision assembly activities involving miniature electronic and mechanical components.
  • Work under microscope and with precision tools to complete assembly tasks.
  • Handle sensitive components using ESD safe practices.
  • Maintain productivity, quality and safety standards while meeting production schedules.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Identify workmanship defects, assembly issues, and non-conforming conditions.
  • Document quality findings and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work meets established quality standards.
  • Perform approved rework and corrective actions following established procedures.
  • Escalate complex issues to technicians, engineers, leads or supervisors.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring assembly issues.
  • Mentor and assist in training Manufacturing Operator I team members on processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Support team leads in coordinating workflow, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are prepared for daily operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment by sharing knowledge and supporting cross-functional teams.
