About The Position

Sheridan is hiring a full-time Manufacturing Operator for its bindery operations. The role offers training for people who are ready to learn to operate high-speed bindery equipment and build a career in print manufacturing. Operators set up and monitor equipment, make adjustments, inspect finished products, troubleshoot minor issues, and work with a team to meet production goals while following safety procedures and maintaining an organized workspace.

This is a second-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The work takes place on a fast-paced, team-oriented production floor. Employees are on their feet for most of the shift and may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Sheridan describes itself as part of the Sheridan Group and CJK Group, producing printed materials for publishers and organizations nationwide.

Requirements

• Experience operating machinery in any industry, such as manufacturing, warehousing, or trades.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic tools.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements, including decimals and sizes.
• Take pride in producing quality work.
• Reliability and ability to work well with a team.

Nice To Haves

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience.
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and set up bindery equipment, including cutters, folders, stitchers, and perfect binders.
• Make adjustments and monitor quality to keep machines running smoothly.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.
