About The Position

The Operator B is a key member of the manufacturing team responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of production machinery and equipment. The incumbent will monitor equipment performance, carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and address operational issues promptly. By adhering to TOTO’s safety and quality standards, the Operator B helps maintain a safe work environment and ensures that all products meet company specifications. Collaboration with teammates and supervisors is essential to drive process improvements and achieve operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
  • Mechanical Aptitude – Ability to understand machine functions, read schematics, and perform basic repairs.
  • Attention to Detail – Spotting wear, misalignments, or quality deviations before they affect output.
  • Communication – Clear verbal and written reporting of equipment status, incidents, and suggestions.
  • Problem‑Solving – Quick identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Time Management – Efficiently prioritize tasks to keep production flowing without unnecessary downtime.

Nice To Haves

  • 1‑2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Familiarity with SOPs, quality‑control documentation, and basic lean‑manufacturing concepts.
  • Working knowledge of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic electrical/mechanical repairs.
  • Certification in occupational safety (e.g., OSHA 10‑hour) or equipment‑specific operation.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Preferred skills such as familiarity with lean tools (5S, Kaizen), basic PLC operation, and experience with statistical process control (SPC) are advantageous and support continuous‑improvement goals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Machinery – Run assigned production equipment in accordance with SOPs, production schedules, and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor & Log – Continuously observe machine performance, record production data, and report any deviations or abnormal conditions to the shift supervisor.
  • Preventive Maintenance – Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments; complete maintenance checklists accurately.
  • Troubleshooting – Identify and resolve simple mechanical or operational issues; promptly escalate complex problems to the maintenance team.
  • Setup & Calibration – Assist with change‑over setups, tool changes, and equipment calibration to meet product specifications.
  • Quality Assurance – Conduct in‑process inspections, verify product dimensions, and ensure compliance with quality standards; isolate and report non‑conforming items.
  • Safety Compliance – Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, participate in safety meetings, and contribute to continuous‑improvement safety initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration – Communicate effectively with co‑workers and supervisors to meet production targets and suggest process enhancements.
