About The Position

Performs a variety of functions in semiconductor-device production, including using wafer fabrication tools and processes, testing product, and delivering product to work areas. Follows safety procedures and protocols without compromise, uses written procedures and process specifications, and collaborates professionally with a team to achieve production goals. The role applies company policies and procedures to complex tasks, understands production needs and escalates issues, and recognizes quality problems with equipment or product so appropriate action can be taken. Assignments are routine but require judgment about when further troubleshooting is needed to produce manufacturable results. Operators typically achieve and maintain certification in multiple areas, apply basic production procedures to meet manufacturing goals, and can work without close supervision. The workday is 12 hours, alternating between three- and four-day workweeks. A and B shifts run 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; C and D shifts run 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. Night-shift applicants are strongly preferred. Typically, 8–10 hours per day are spent standing and walking while continuously lifting and moving boxes of wafers weighing approximately 10 pounds. Work takes place in a cleanroom, wearing a full-body cleanroom suit. Additional personal protective equipment is required when handling or indirectly working with hazardous materials.

Requirements

Requires 0–2 years of related experience.
Ability to apply company policies and procedures to perform complex tasks.
Understanding of production needs and when to escalate issues.
Ability to recognize quality problems with equipment and product and take appropriate action.
Ability to determine when additional troubleshooting is needed.
Dedication to following safety procedures and protocols.
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment.
Ability to work without close supervision.
Ability to stand and walk for typically 8–10 hours per day.
Ability to continuously lift and move wafer boxes weighing approximately 10 pounds.
Ability to wear a full-body cleanroom suit and additional personal protective equipment when required.

A college degree may be considered to offset a portion of manufacturing experience.
Applicants for night-shift openings are strongly preferred.
