International Motors, LLC•Huntsville, AL
•$74,400 - $111,600•Onsite

About The Position

International’s Huntsville Powertrain Plant is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead first shift operations. This role is not just about running production, it’s about owning a business, developing people, and building a culture where problems are surfaced and solved the right way. You will be responsible for a defined area of the operation with clear ownership for safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while leading a team of Team Leaders and operators. Success in this role comes from being present on the floor, coaching daily, and building capable teams—not just reacting to yesterday’s results. We are strengthening how we operate, moving toward standard work, accountability, and problem-solving at the right level. Supervisors play a key role in setting that tone every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of production/manufacturing experience OR Master's degree and at least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience OR At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
  • We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading hourly teams within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Automotive, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Passion for developing people, driving results, and creating a positive team culture

Responsibilities

  • Safety first, always – ensure risks are identified, addressed, and never ignored
  • Quality at the source – build processes that prevent defects, not just react to them
  • Delivery performance – run stable operations that meet plan without constant firefighting
  • Cost awareness – make decisions that support efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment
  • Lead and be present on the floor – drive daily performance through engagement, not from behind a desk
  • Own your area end-to-end – no gaps, no shared accountability
  • Develop Team Leaders – coach them on how to run their areas, solve problems, and lead people
  • Set and follow leader standard work – drive consistency in how the business runs each day
  • Build stability before speed – focus on standard processes, clear expectations, and repeatable results
  • Identify problems early and respond with urgency – escalate when needed, but don’t pass problems on
  • Drive practical problem-solving – focus on root cause and sustainable fixes, not quick patches
  • Coordinate with support teams (Quality, Materials, Maintenance, etc.) to remove barriers to performance
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development to build a strong and capable team
