About The Position

Det-Tronics is seeking a results-oriented Manufacturing/Production Supervisor to lead a team of hourly and temporary employees on our sole production shift within Manufacturing Operations. This role is based on a first-shift schedule; however, as a salaried leader, some flexibility is expected to support broader operational needs when required. This position plays a key role in ensuring daily production goals are met while upholding safety, quality, and efficiency standards. You will oversee critical day-to-day activities, including production scheduling, performance monitoring, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and/or MS Access.
  • Experience with SQL databases and data queries.
  • Knowledge of PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and other manufacturing planning tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support hourly full-time and temporary production employees to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and performance of temporary workers; coordinate with staffing agencies to maintain adequate workforce levels.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in the selection process for both full-time and temporary candidates.
  • Review and approve employee timecards and time-off requests to ensure accurate payroll processing and adequate staffing coverage.
  • Ensure all quality-related activities and documentation for production cells meet established compliance standards, including ISO and internal audit requirements.
  • Lead or participate in regular Gemba walks and daily tier meetings to identify and address operational issues, promote accountability, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology to improve safety, reduce waste, and optimize efficiency across the production floor.
  • Monitor and optimize production performance to meet daily schedules and maximize output.
  • Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
  • Assist in production scheduling and sequencing to streamline workflow and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with materials and logistics teams to resolve supply issues and maintain smooth production flow.
  • Contribute to production innovation efforts, including implementation of new technologies such as additive manufacturing.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external customers to address production-related concerns and ensure satisfaction.
