About The Position

Provides supervisory direction to the department, reviewing and analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify causes of nonconformity and operational problems. The role is responsible for maintaining efficient and compliant production lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; in lieu of degree additional years of relevant experience and/or training/education may be considered.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience as an individual contributor senior role; or 1 – 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor.
  • Understanding of FDA guidelines for finished goods drug manufacturing.
  • Understanding of lean principles.
  • A solid understanding of SPC and statistical techniques.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the team, including establishing mutual goals, assigning tasks, and maintaining schedules.
  • Follow and enforce all clean room procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machinery problems as they occur; assist maintenance when necessary.
  • Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding product orders.
  • Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control to optimize utilization of resources.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures to eliminate problems and improve product quality.
  • Revise production schedules and priorities due to equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Consult with engineering staff regarding machine and equipment modifications to improve production and quality.
  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Inspect machines, equipment, and manufacturing areas for operational performance, optimum utilization, and GMP compliance.
  • Develop or revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and working practices.
  • Observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to management.
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production data.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained and following GMP compliance.
  • Ensure all employees are following appropriate safety practices.
  • Maintain general housekeeping of working area and plant.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Focus on one or more departments or locations, with applicable addendums for specific functions.
