About The Position
This internship is designed to develop future leaders by providing direct exposure to team supervision, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Supported by experienced managers, you will build the skills required to pursue future supervisory and management opportunities. The intern will gain hands-on experience at the heart of production operations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership potential, initiative and team-building abilities
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
- All hires will be required to complete, sign and return the Controlled Goods Program form within a week of its transmittal
- Must provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate
- Students with a work permit must provide a copy of it and a police clearance certificate from the country or countries where they have resided in the past five years
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
- Previous internship experience in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day supervision of production activities
- Work closely with employees on the production floor and support team engagement
- Promote a safe and respectful work environment while supporting Health & Safety initiatives
- Contribute to the achievement of quality, productivity and delivery targets
- Participate in performance analysis, KPI tracking and continuous improvement projects
