About The Position

The Manufacturing NPI Test Engineer bridges Test Engineering and Production for production testing of new power supplies and converters, from introduction at the US factory through transfer to the Vietnam factory. The role owns deployment of production testing for new products and improvements to existing tests, ensuring products are tested accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with quality requirements. It supports multiple concurrent NPI programs, owns production-test transfers to Vietnam, and serves as the primary production-test resource for existing products, improving yield, uptime, and test time. This is a hands-on, on-site position based at a US manufacturing facility, with significant time on the production floor. The engineer works closely with Test Engineering, Manufacturing NPI Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and the Vietnam receiving team. The position includes domestic and international travel, primarily to Vietnam, and occasional flexibility to support builds and production-test issues outside standard hours. Responsibilities span NPI test strategy and deployment; validation and release of production tests; transfer, correlation, and training at the Vietnam factory; sustaining production test and equipment; functional, safety, burn-in, and ICT/flying-probe methods; quality and regulatory compliance; test documentation and data reporting; equipment and automation improvements; and mentoring and training. The role uses test software and instrumentation, including LabVIEW, TestStand or Python, programmable AC/DC sources, electronic loads, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMMs, safety testers, burn-in systems, and ICT/flying-probe equipment. XP Power describes itself as a fast-growing supplier of critical power conversion technology serving medical, technology, industrial, and defence markets. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and emphasizes Customer Focus, Flexibility, Knowledge, Speed, and Integrity. The position is in the Manufacturing Engineering department. Compensation is USD 130,000–140,000 yearly.
