About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to support the P-8 program in Tukwila, WA! The First Line Manufacturing Manager will provide strategic leadership and overall program management for key elements of the P-8 aircraft program. This role is responsible for driving execution across schedule, cost, quality, and customer commitments while coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives. The manager serves as a senior point of contact for internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers, ensuring alignment on priorities, resolving issues, and supporting the successful delivery of program milestones. This position requires strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to manage complex aerospace program activities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years’ experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years’ experience working with or supporting military aircraft
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and improve operational KPIs
  • Ability to work any shift
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem-solving building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • 3+ years’ experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • Previous knowledge / experience with LEAN
  • Experience with military aircraft maintenance
  • Experience with flight ramp operations
  • Experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
  • Experience managing a Collective Bargaining Unit (CBU)/hourly union-represented workforce
