About The Position
Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Fabrication is seeking a First Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to join our Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC) team onsite in Ladson/North Charleston, South Carolina. This role leads our Fabrication team that builds interior commodities for the 787 Airplane Program. We are looking for an experienced manager to oversee a multi‑disciplinary manufacturing group, ensuring efficient operations, high-quality production, and continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations and/or manufacturing support
- 3+ years of experience advising and influencing managers or non-managers to meet organizational goals
- Ability to optimize organizational structure and operating rhythm to meet strategic goals
- Willingness to work any shift based on business needs
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience leading teams
- 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives
- Experience collaborating cross functionally and influencing positive change
- Experience in Fabrication leadership
Responsibilities
- Manage employees across multiple manufacturing disciplines
- Develop and execute business plans, policies, procedures, and technical strategies
- Coordinate with support organizations to ensure policy compliance
- Lead, coach, and influence the team to achieve goals
- Secure resources, oversee supplier technical management, and drive process improvements
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
- Approve technical approaches, products, and processes
- Mentor, develop, and motivate employees
