About The Position

Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motor sport and industrial markets. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for all parts and prepreg manufacturing operations, tool fabrication, and parts program management activities. The incumbent will work through the Production Supervisors and Program Managers to ensure that customer requirements are met. The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for safety, quality, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy. This position will work closely with the Program Managers, Quality Manager, Materials Management, Customer Service, and Engineering Manager to ensure that customer requirements are met in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of five years of manufacturing management experience.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in either engineering or business administration.
  • Must be familiar with computerized inventory control and scheduling systems.
  • Experience in a build to print and build to specification environment is required.
  • Must have the ability to read blue prints.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to work and communicate as a member of a team and have experience in working in and leading cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the lean manufacturing effort through the manufacturing area.
  • Work directly with Customer Service and Engineering to provide status to customers and lead time on new orders.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing inventory transactions are accurate and done in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that there is adequate trained staff to support current and projected business volume.
  • Takes feedback from the quality group and Program Engineers to develop action plans to correct problems and improve operational efficiency.
  • Is a key participant in the plant safety committee and ensures compliance with plant safety rules in his area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing group does what is needed to achieve on-time delivery goals.
  • Is a key participant in all cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives along with Engineering and Material Control groups.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or designee.
