About The Position

This role is responsible for leading the overall performance of a manufacturing facility, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement. The Manufacturing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, HSE, Commercial, and Finance to deliver operational objectives while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction. The position leverages operational leadership expertise, manufacturing experience, and business acumen to drive plant performance and continuous improvement initiatives. The manager will lead manufacturing operations, develop talent, optimize resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements while fostering a culture of operational excellence.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, blending, process operations, or related industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience managing manufacturing, production, or operations teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Process Safety Management (PSM), and operational excellence programs.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory management, and plant performance management.
  • Experience developing and managing operating budgets, financial plans, and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality management systems, and environmental requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Experience utilizing SAP, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Adaptability and capability of thriving in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Experience within specialty chemicals, blending operations, oilfield chemicals, or related process industries.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leading all aspects of plant operations to achieve performance targets related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Developing and executing annual operating plans aligned with business objectives and long-term strategic goals.
  • Promoting a safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Process Safety Management (PSM), and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring effective implementation of risk assessments, audits, emergency preparedness activities, and corrective actions.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, Lean Manufacturing principles, and sustainable performance improvements.
  • Managing daily manufacturing activities, including production scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
  • Coordinating maintenance, reliability, and capital improvement programs to maximize equipment performance and operational uptime.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing supervisors, planners, warehouse personnel, laboratory personnel, and manufacturing operators.
  • Establishing clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and workforce development plans.
  • Supporting succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Leading investigations, root cause analysis activities, and corrective action plans related to quality, safety, or operational issues.
  • Partnering with commercial, sourcing, and supply chain teams to ensure customer commitments and business objectives are achieved.
  • Managing plant budgets, financial performance, and key operational metrics to drive profitability and cost optimization.
  • Developing and executing capital investment projects that improve safety, reliability, capacity, and operational efficiency.
  • Driving working capital optimization, productivity improvements, and cost reduction opportunities across the facility.
  • Monitoring operational performance metrics and implementing action plans to achieve continuous improvement objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and applicable environmental regulations.
