Manufacturing Manager 1 - Material Plan & Execution

GE VernovaPensacola, FL
Onsite

About The Position

Great manufacturing doesn't happen by accident — it happens when the right materials arrive at the right time, production schedules are built on solid plans, and a team is empowered to execute with precision. As a Manufacturing Operations Manager focused on Material Planning & Execution, you'll be the engine behind that alignment. You'll lead a team, own the manufacturing planning processes, and drive the kind of operational discipline that keeps production moving and customers satisfied. This is a role for someone who brings people together around a shared goal — and who finds genuine satisfaction in building systems, developing talent, and making the floor run better every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain or related field, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement and/or supply chain
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential with at least 6 years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and execute purchasing processes
  • Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Ability to lead a small team and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with sourcing policy application and category management
  • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment across teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose practical solutions outside of standard parameters

Responsibilities

  • Lead master planning and material execution processes, including production scheduling and purchasing needs, ensuring alignment with operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner cross-functionally to coordinate and expedite material flow — from supplier delivery through internal department handoffs — to keep production on schedule.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
  • Hire, develop, and coach your team — setting clear performance expectations, supporting growth, and building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues, helping build team capability and consensus around operational decisions.
  • Monitor production plan adherence and proactively surface risks, proposing practical solutions when manufacturing complexity or interdependent production cycles require it.
