About The Position

This is a graveyard position (3rd Shift), training will be provided during 1st shift for approximately 3 months.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, with additional technical training or an associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, engineering or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience in industrial maintenance in manufacturing, assembly, or fabrication environment.
  • Must be able to safely perform routine mechanical & maintenance work requiring the frequent use of hand and power tools; knowledge of methods, tools, equipment and safe working practices in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery; welding knowledge; forklift certified.
  • Flexible schedule & willing to work OT; excellent attendance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication & teamwork skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and coordinate the work flow/assigned team.
  • Ability to follow instructions, understand and follow work rules/procedures & make sound decisions.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English, basic math.
  • Possess skill or experience at advance journeyman level for multiple skill crafts (electrical capability is a plus).
  • Knowledge of the department’s operating protocol & company’s safety policies & program a must.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews operation of plant equipment and systems, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate/solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement. Conducts special safety audits around facility & equipment.
  • Performs machinery inspections. Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency & detect problems. Documents & reports issues immediately to supervisor/manager.
  • Diagnoses, repairs and replaces variety of mechanical equipment, systems and machinery such as motors, valves, etc. Assesses wear and condition and makes recommendations to supervisors regarding repair and replacement.
  • Dismantles machines and removes parts for lubrication and/or repair, using hand tools, jacks, cranes, hoists, etc. Reassembles machines after completion of work or maintenance.
  • Monitors temperature readings and inspects drive motors, generators, boilers, gear boxes, brakes, conveyors, etc.
  • Regularly checks all lubrication, water levels, etc. Document all work completed and or issues on other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Perform various maintenance duties, as needed such as preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting/ diagnostic of equipment operations, filter changes, lubrication.
  • Ability to read and work from complex blueprints or drawings.
  • Ability to complete highly skilled or specialized tasks with high level of productivity and efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor within safe & good housekeeping guidelines.
