About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This role is responsible for installing, modifying, repairing, troubleshooting, testing, and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. The position involves working with electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints. The electrician will also repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, connect power supply wires, replace AC/DC motors, and detect malfunctioning apparatus. Safety in accordance with OSHA and LOTO standards is paramount.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique projects.
  • Ability to formulate the layout sketch of required electrical circuits, wire new test setups, install strain gauge circuits and recording instruments as needed by the test program to measure performance of test articles, check the installed system to insure that specified electrical test conditions are attained, and may troubleshoot the electrical portions of the test equipment during test programs to determine cause of malfunction.
  • Knowledge and ability to anticipate and respond quickly to danger signs as they become evident through intricate warning systems to avoid loss of time and expensive equipment.
  • Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment needed to perform job effectively.
  • Knowledge of electronics to electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors.
  • Applicable licenses or certifications required to perform these tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduct for newly installed machines and equipment, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code, using hand tools and voltage tester.
  • Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as die units, glue units, conveyor systems, bindery equipment, etc. using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment, using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Replace AC/DC motors.
  • Detect malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Perform tasks safely in accordance with OSHA and LOTO standards.
