About The Position

The Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading the electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all electrical components, machinery, and infrastructure operate efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an industrial or manufacturing electrician.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed; willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays based on production needs.

Nice To Haves

  • technical or vocational training in industrial electricity or a related field preferred.
  • State or local electrician’s license strongly preferred or required, depending on location.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on production lines, machinery, motors, control panels, and automated systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce unplanned outages.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other maintenance team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and resolve recurring problems.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage using the facility’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations; promote a safe working environment by following established procedures and reporting hazards.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Participate in training and cross-training activities as required.
