About The Position

RRD is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician to install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. This role involves installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. The electrician will also install power supply wiring and conduct for newly installed machines and equipment, conveyors, and programmable controllers. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, replacing AC/DC motors, and potentially planning wiring layouts and installing conduit. The role requires detecting malfunctioning apparatus using test equipment and replacing damaged wires and cables. Additionally, the electrician may diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and must perform tasks safely in accordance with OSHA and LOTO standards.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of the construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique projects.
Ability to formulate the layout sketch of required electrical circuits, wire new test setups, install strain gauge circuits and recording instruments as needed by the test program to measure performance of test articles, check the installed system to insure that specified electrical test conditions are attained, and may troubleshoot the electrical portions of the test equipment during test programs to determine cause of malfunction.
Knowledge and ability to anticipate and respond quickly to danger signs as they become evident through intricate warning systems to avoid loss of time and expensive equipment.
Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment needed to perform job effectively.
Knowledge of electronics to electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors.
Applicable licenses or certifications required to perform these tasks.

May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as drill presses, or other machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities

Replace AC/DC motors.
Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Detect malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Perform tasks safely in accordance with OSHA and LOTO standards.
