About The Position

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking Manufacturing Line Operators, or trainees, to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining production schedules and ensuring the highest quality end product. The company is a leading surface engineering company in North America with over 75 years of experience in delivering metal finishing solutions for critical applications in healthcare, aerospace, automotive, and industrial markets.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand work orders and safety instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
  • General understanding of process line equipment, such as: rectifiers, pumps, chillers, computers, cranes, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • No prior manufacturing experience required (entry-level candidates welcome).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all loads with shift supervisor to maximize tank efficiency.
  • Ensure all loads are processed to their specific process recipes and inspect loads investigating deviations when required.
  • Take the initiative to use the dry erase board to document any necessary information and observe updated procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with other shift operators regarding load progress and necessary actions for shift consistency.
  • Question other operators' methods when necessary and share experience and knowledge.
  • Process special loads using proper communication between Quality Assurance, supervisor, and other line operators.
  • Contact shift supervisor for special guidance when necessary.
  • Clean contact pads on work bars and tanks to ensure full electrical contact and proper load rectification.
  • Report equipment problems to the shift supervisor for maintenance requisition.
  • Lead tank maintenance teams on a rotating schedule.
  • Train material handlers and new line operators.
