About The Position

The Foundry Laborer supports daily production operations in a metal foundry environment by assisting with the movement, preparation, and handling of raw materials and finished products. This role requires flexibility to rotate between departments and perform a variety of physical tasks that contribute to safe, efficient casting operations. The Foundry Laborer plays an essential role in maintaining workflow, supporting team members, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or foundry environment is a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to be trained and certified.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain safety compliance in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
  • Exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud machinery typical of metal foundry operations.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including: Hard hat Safety glasses Heat-resistant gloves Steel-toed boots Hearing protection

Responsibilities

  • Performs non-smelting operations including but not limited to; demagnetizing, saw cutting, drying, polishing, shearing, grinding, sieving, packing and assisting in weighing.
  • Transport raw materials, scrap metal, and finished products throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material-handling equipment.
  • Brick, sort, drum, or stage raw materials to support casting and production jobs.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials used in the melting and casting processes.
  • Able to use and operate hand trucks and lift trucks as necessary.
  • Rotate between departments and work areas as production needs require, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in accordance with housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Assist operators, technicians, and other team members to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Properly wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or production concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations. All employees perform miscellaneous work in connection with plant “housekeeping.”
