Chemours is seeking a Manufacturing Laboratorian to join our growing team. This position will be available at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV . The primary responsibility of this role is to use broad knowledge of analytical testing and equipment to perform tests and assure timely accurate results to meet production commitments in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Successful score on the Lab Industrial Aptitude Battery test
  • Successful score on the Lab Hands-on Skill Assessment
  • Demonstrated comfort with computer data entry
  • Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including overtime, weekends, holidays and on short notice call-in as required
  • Willing and able to lift up to 55 lbs.; climb stairs, stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms; possess visual acuity for close work.
  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as protective eyewear, face shield, safety shoes.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Chemistry or other scientific field
  • Completion of a Lab Certification program
  • Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing setting
  • 1 or more years of experience in a Lab setting (manufacturing, medical, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine testing to meet production commitments.
  • Perform calibration of equipment as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or suspect results.
  • Audit reagents and supplies and take appropriate actions to maintain inventory.
  • May be required to perform various emergency response tasks.
  • Responsible for communication with peers, supervision and area manufacturing representatives.
  • Train others on routine tests and equipment as needed.
  • Safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards for a clean, safe work environment.
