The intern will be tasked with providing problem-solving expertise to enhance product quality and performance. During the internship, the candidate will be assigned a project that is expected to be completed within the tenure of the internship or co-op assignment. This role includes the opportunity to work closely with a mentor from the Operations team. The ideal candidate should be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field. The applicant must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, exhibit excellent problem-solving and data analysis abilities, and demonstrate creativity and self-motivation. The ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment is also essential for this position.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student working towards their degree in one of the following areas: Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Great problem solving and data analysis skills
  • Creative, self-driven, and able to work with a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement activities in the production of thermoplastic monofilaments for Paper Machine Clothing (PMC) applications.
  • Provide problem solving expertise to find solutions
  • Assigned to a project that can be completed during the internship / co-op assignment
  • Work with a mentor from the Operations team
