Manufacturing Estimator

AereosEuless, TX
Onsite

About The Position

We’re an aerospace machining manufacturer supporting both commercial and defense programs. We’re hiring a manufacturing estimator who understands what it takes to get parts through production—setups, cycle times, tooling, inspection, outside processing, and the real-world constraints that impact cost and lead time. This role is on-site in Euless, TX and works closely with the shop floor, engineering, quality, and purchasing to produce input for accurate, competitive quotes.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of estimating experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace machining required
  • Hands-on understanding of CNC machining production (you know how routing/time standards translate on the floor)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs, working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Strong grasp of cost drivers: labor, machine time, material, tooling, overhead, outside processing, inspection/documentation
  • Comfortable working in an ERP/MRP system and Excel
  • Strong communication skills—able to defend assumptions and collaborate cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace quality and compliance familiarity: AS9100, FAI/AS9102, traceability, cert packages
  • Experience quoting for commercial + defense customers and understanding flow-down requirements
  • Experience with tight-tolerance machining, exotic materials (Inconel, titanium), or complex multi-axis work
  • Background in planning, manufacturing engineering, or shop supervision (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Build accurate labor estimates and lead times for CNC-machined aerospace components (milling/turning; multi-op parts; prototypes through production runs)
  • Review RFQs, drawings, specs, and customer flow-downs; identify gaps and drive clarifications early
  • Develop and validate: Routing steps and operation sequencing, Setup and cycle time assumptions, Tooling/fixture needs and consumables, Material type, yield, and scrap risk, Inspection requirements (in-process, final, and documentation), Special Processing Requirements
  • Coordinate with production to confirm manufacturability and capacity-aware lead times
  • Work with purchasing/suppliers on material and outside processing pricing (heat treat, plating, anodize, NDT, passivation, etc.)
  • Partner with quality to ensure quotes reflect requirements like traceability, certs, and documentation packages
  • Compare quote assumptions to actual job performance (actual vs. estimated) and continuously improve estimating accuracy
  • Maintain clean, organized quote files and ensure adherence to internal procedures

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision
  • 401(k) with match (4%)
  • PTO + paid holidays
  • Training and advancement opportunities
