About The Position

This is a unique opportunity to deepen your impact within Novartis by taking on a critical role supporting manufacturing operations at our Morris Plains site. As a Manufacturing Equipment Specialist, you will build on your existing expertise to take ownership of equipment performance across its full lifecycle, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, compliant production. In this role, you will apply your equipment knowledge, problem-solving mindset, and operational knowledge to strengthen process reliability, support continuous improvement, and help ensure uninterrupted delivery of our medicines to patients. NOTE: Two positions are available. Both will work 4x10 schedule. One position will work Sunday – Wednesday, the second will work Wednesday – Saturday. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing equipment within a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice environment
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production setting
  • Proficiency with manufacturing and quality systems such as SAP, Laboratory Information Management System, or Manufacturing Execution System
  • Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams across Quality, Engineering, and MS&T
  • Willingness and ability to work in cleanroom environments requiring aseptic gowning for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting cell therapy production equipment including Prior involvement in equipment installation, qualification, or process validation activities

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line engineering and technical support to ensure safe, compliant, on-time batch manufacturing
  • Schedule and coordinate equipment preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair activities
  • Deliver real-time troubleshooting and support for production equipment and manufacturing systems
  • Support installation, setup, and qualification of new and existing equipment and processing modules
  • Identify and implement improvements in process efficiency, equipment reliability, and operational quality
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and MS&T to support manufacturing readiness
  • Maintain an inspection-ready environment through adherence to cGMP and documentation standards
  • Proficient in the use of production related IT systems such as SAP, LIMS, MES, 1QEM
  • Ability to gown aseptically and work in a clean room environment (ISO 8, 7 and ISO 5) areas for extended periods of time.
