About The Position

This position is located at the Greensboro, NC – Swing Road Plant. We are seeking team players who can take charge of business-related challenges and ensure smooth operations. Plant Technicians are vital to our business success, working behind the scenes to keep production flowing, meet performance goals, and maintain high product quality. We hire at an entry level, with opportunities for advancement based on demonstrated operating, maintenance, and leadership skills. There are also opportunities to expand expertise into electrical, quality assurance, safety, and hygiene areas. Technicians will be involved in running high-speed converting and packing equipment, controlling processes from a computer terminal, and performing preventive maintenance. Meaningful work begins on Day 1, with involvement in impacting situations and influencing business-related problems. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes)
  • Willing to work rotating shifts
  • Willing to operate essential material handling equipment at the site (forklift, clamp truck, hand trucks, etc.)
  • Able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment
  • Maintaining accurate records and data
  • Strong technical, interpersonal and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Running high-speed converting and packing equipment
  • Controlling the process from a computer terminal
  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Operating and maintaining equipment in their area
  • Acting as a System Owner or Equipment Owner for the area in which they operate
  • Participating on a team to pack a product received from a making area or a finished product item that gets packaged, manually or with the assistance of a machine or robot
