About The Position

To lead and support a portion of the Forward Programs Manufacturing Engineering team to successfully support production and launch new business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution, coach and develop talent, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in Product Engineering, Production Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., managing engineers, supervisors, or technical teams).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems (e.g., assembly, automation, material handling, test systems).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in parallel.

Nice To Haves

Significant experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of successfully launching new products/processes and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and retain high-performing engineering teams.
Strong mentorship and coaching mindset, with a focus on developing future leaders.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop a team of manufacturing and controls engineers, including goal setting, performance management, coaching, and career development.
Own manufacturing engineering deliverables for assigned products and processes from concept through launch and into steady-state production.
Drive process design and optimization, including line balancing, workstation design, ergonomics, PFMEA, control plans, and standard work.
Oversee specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of tools, fixtures, and equipment to meet capacity, quality, and cost targets.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve productivity, capacity, quality, and cost, including automation, layout changes, and technology upgrades.
Support launch and program timing by coordinating engineering activities, resources, and priorities across multiple projects.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and inclusive teamwork within the engineering group.
