About The Position

To lead and support a portion of the Forward Programs Manufacturing Engineering team to successfully support production and launch new business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution, coach and develop talent, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in Product Engineering, Production Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., managing engineers, supervisors, or technical teams).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems (e.g., assembly, automation, material handling, test systems).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in parallel.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products/processes and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and retain high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong mentorship and coaching mindset, with a focus on developing future leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of manufacturing and controls engineers, including goal setting, performance management, coaching, and career development.
  • Own manufacturing engineering deliverables for assigned products and processes from concept through launch and into steady-state production.
  • Drive process design and optimization, including line balancing, workstation design, ergonomics, PFMEA, control plans, and standard work.
  • Oversee specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of tools, fixtures, and equipment to meet capacity, quality, and cost targets.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve productivity, capacity, quality, and cost, including automation, layout changes, and technology upgrades.
  • Support launch and program timing by coordinating engineering activities, resources, and priorities across multiple projects.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and inclusive teamwork within the engineering group.
