About The Position

Jabil is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Technicians with Surface Mountain Technology (SMT) to work in Richardson, TX. All Shifts Needed! The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support the SMT Manufacturing team through the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and supporting documentation. The qualified candidate will also assist the Manufacturing Engineers with the analysis of process metrics and issues, equipment selection and setup, manufacturing documentation, and the manufacturing process flow.

Requirements

• High School Required
• At least 4 years of related experience working in a manufacturing environment; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience or knowledge with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) strongly preferred.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
• Tooling experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Create manufacturing documentation including, but not limited to, Visual Aids, Process Flows Deviations and Assembly Request Forms
• Assist and support Manufacturing Engineers in the collection, preparation, and analysis of data.
• Troubleshooting and assisting in conducting preventative maintenance on SMT equipment.
• Creating documentation and SOP’s for manufacturing equipment.
• Assist in designing and procuring tooling, including stencils, pallets, and fixtures.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to prevent manufacturing issues, improve quality yields, and improve processes.
• Assist cross-functional team in conducting root cause analysis of manufacturing issues and support corrective action.
• Conduct time studies of manufacturing processes and compile and summarize results for Manufacturing Engineers
• Assist Manufacturing Engineer in process development (creating profiles, programming equipment, etc.).
• Assist Manufacturing Engineer in the execution of equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ).
• Coordinate and execute calibration and verification activity for assigned tooling and gauges.
• Provide on-call support to resolve engineering-related issues arising beyond normal business hours.
• Work safely at all times and comply with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules.
• Other duties as they may be assigned.
