About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is ultimately responsible for improving production processes, creating standards, and for communication and training the production teams accordingly. This role facilitates the application of Global Manufacturing Excellence principles and tools, including work instructions and procedures for safety, quality, Daily Direction Setting (DDS), cleaning, inspection, lubrication (CIL) maintenance, and center lining (CL). The 1st shift operating hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing process experience required.
  • Skilled in SAP or another Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Mill Execution Systems (MES).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, or other related engineering field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Heavy engineering experience strongly preferred.
  • Maintenance planning or Continuous Improvement methodologies experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate safe work practices and promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Set, monitor, and improve processes according to Statistical Process Control methodologies.
  • Set and save process settings and standards (center lining, CIL) and facilitate the application of standards/systems.
  • Support product/material development and project implementation according to Design for Six Sigma Master Daily Direction Setting (DDS) zero loss flow chart and coach teams in the application.
  • Own technical gap analysis of their area of responsibility.
  • Lead small group activity in own technology area as the expert for process and technology for their lines.
  • Responsible for improving the results.
  • Continuously optimize production processes in a sustainable way through root cause analysis (RCA) and standardization.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify underlying problems with processes or equipment.
  • Train and coach operation teams to improve behaviors to the defined standards and procedures.
