$26 - $27Onsite

About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports manufacturing and distribution operations by performing equipment setup, operation, routine and preventative maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities across production areas. This role combines mechanical aptitude, hands-on machine operation, and exposure to automation and prepress processes — including prepress and programming functions, color management, AutoCAD and other drafting, safety improvement integration, and jig and fixture design — to drive safety, efficiency, and operational excellence in a high-mix, low-volume industrial printing and promotional product manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a similar technical support, maintenance, or production role such as Automation, Electromechanical, Engineering Technician, Pre-Press, Mechatronics, Process Technician, or Production Technician, with the ability to learn, repair, optimize, and functionally operate a variety of production equipment.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Soft Starts, Servo Drives, and external Input/Output (I/O) devices, along with mechanical, electrical, and motor control troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Diverse fabrication skillset including lathe, vertical mill, drill press, surface grinder, and welding, combined with hands-on experience with fabrication tools and basic machine operation.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication at both operator and management levels, including the ability to run tests, document findings, present data, write process sheets, and effectively train others to operate equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting software and Microsoft Office; experience with Print Factory, Wasatch, Esko, SWITCH, or Adobe programs is a plus, as is pre-press file preparation experience.
  • Ability to consistently enforce LOTO and all other safety protocols, maintain current certifications in bloodborne pathogens, PIT, respirator, and fall protection, and work at heights from ladders and aerial lifts.
  • Resourcefulness and strong technical troubleshooting instincts, with the ability to work flexible hours as needed, work independently without supervision, and follow oral and written instructions in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Print Factory, Wasatch, Esko, SWITCH, or Adobe programs
  • Pre-press file preparation experience

Responsibilities

  • Teach and train production staff on how to operate and optimize equipment, including setup procedures, maintenance routines, and troubleshooting techniques, ensuring operators are equipped to perform at their best.
  • Partner with the Maintenance team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on digital and mechanical equipment, and provide technical training and assistance to Maintenance Technician roles as needed.
  • Work independently or collaboratively to support rapid problem-solving, continuous improvement initiatives, and the documentation of process map visuals and job aids.
  • Support Production Management in assuring all equipment and processes are functional and efficient, making or arranging corrections, adjustments, and repairs as required to keep production on schedule.
  • Operate equipment during setup, testing, troubleshooting, and high-demand periods to ensure timely and high-quality output of products that reach fans worldwide.
  • Run a variety of tests — including color profile, print quality, time study/throughput, material qualification, and consumable testing — to uphold the quality standards fans expect from officially licensed merchandise.
  • Assist in developing measurements for optimal equipment utilization and quality control, directly contributing to a consistent and exceptional fan product experience.
  • Learn and utilize a variety of software programs including AutoCAD, Fusion360, Adobe Creative Cloud, SWITCH, Print Factory, and other RIPs to support prepress, programming, and workflow automation.
  • Build and install jigs, fixtures, and other productivity- or safety-enhancing solutions, applying a diverse fabrication skillset including lathe, vertical mill, drill press, surface grinder, and welding.
  • Learn and assist with automation solutions across both digital workflow and physical process, supporting the organization's advancement toward a more automated manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in prototyping, experimentation, data collection, time studies, safety and quality assessments, and reporting — including nonconformance reports, capital expenditure authorizations, purchase requisitions, requests for quote, process sheets, and safety training checklists.
  • Take full responsibility for the safety, quality, and timely execution of all technical support services, consistently enforcing LOTO and all other safety protocols and notifying leadership immediately of any observed compliance gaps.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools, drawing on experience with PLCs, VFDs, soft starts, servo drives, and external I/O devices to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Identify hazardous conditions and unsafe practices, responding immediately (if trained) and reporting all safety concerns to site leadership while adhering to all department, company, and regulatory standards.
  • Operate with professionalism and integrity, treating others with respect in a positive and inclusive manner, and demonstrating the ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
