This role involves assisting in the installation and qualification of systems, troubleshooting day-to-day manufacturing issues, and identifying or implementing system improvements to achieve throughput, yield, and product performance goals. The position requires a safety-first mindset, general electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include assisting with critical process alignment of laser systems, following PM procedures, running daily measurement routines, and continuously monitoring production line lasers to ensure product quality. The technician will act as a point of contact for production personnel regarding laser issues. The role also involves solving production, equipment, and process problems, identifying and implementing yield and product performance improvements, developing methods to assign causes to yield excursions, setting up and maintaining gauges, and ensuring processes run on target. The technician will respond to SPC process control alarms, execute planned process experiments, collect and analyze data, and report results. They will also collect data on daily tool performance and associated product performance, provide training to production associates, and develop/update internal documentation. Interfacing with internal associates and supplier representatives, developing a complete understanding of area processes, and maintaining effective communication with production associates and manufacturing engineers are also key aspects. The role includes dispositioning non-conforming product, adhering to safety procedures and housekeeping standards, and ensuring proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials.
