About The Position

The Entegris site in Bedford, MA is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers responsible for ensuring Safety, Quality, and highyield production operations. This role is focused exclusively on sustaining and continuously improving existing manufacturing processes by being hands on with Engineers on the floor troubleshooting, developing mature work cells with strong process controls, including robust FMEAs, control plans, Response Checklists, ReturntoService guidelines, process troubleshooting standards, and by training production teams to uphold the highest quality expectations. This leader owns all sustaining factory requirements, including yield improvement, Management of Change (MOC) governance, Quality guidelines, non-conformance management, manufacturing documentation, control plan maturity, and overall process stability. The role ensures that manufacturing excursions are addressed through rigorous rootcause analysis and that sustainable corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, disciplined problemsolving, and excellent leadership skills to build and guide a highperforming engineering team that drives process maturity, quality excellence, and operational reliability.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence, guide, and mentor engineers and operations personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including statistical analysis and structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Strong background in SPC and Quality.
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to executives, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in the semiconductor or precision materials industry.
  • Proven experience leading complex investigations, implementing process control systems, and improving stability and capability.
  • Expertise with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and other structured problem-solving tools.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring engineering talent.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Model exceptional safety behaviors and coach the engineering team to design processes that prioritize safe operation, ergonomics, and risk reduction.
  • Enhance factory safety by identifying ergonomic risks and eliminating highrisk tasks through thoughtful process optimization, redesign, and automation.
  • Lead or support safety investigations from a process engineering standpoint, ensuring effective containment, root cause identification, and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for factory process excursions, maintaining daily process stability to protect productivity and throughput.
  • Identify critical manufacturing variables, reduce process variability, and uphold robust statistical process controls.
  • Advance and standardize SPC practices across the factory by ensuring control limits, reaction plans, and followup actions are clearly defined and consistently executed.
  • Drive Engineering ownership of comprehensive RCAs for yield loss events and process excursions, ensuring permanent corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deploy containment actions rapidly, verify their effectiveness using clear criteria, and provide timely progress updates to leadership.
  • Lead continuous yield improvement efforts using data-driven analysis, SPC signals, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Serve as chair for Change Control, ensuring all changes are rigorously evaluated to prevent customer-impacting excursions.
  • Maintain site quality policies and standards, FMEAs, Product Control plans ensuring full compliance and consistent execution across the engineering team.
  • Support customer quality engineers, acting as the primary point of contact for customer requirements and requests.
  • Manage customer complaints and support 8D investigation to find root cause, present customers and management on findings and prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct routine process Gemba walks to verify adherence to Plan of Record (POR) and drive operational discipline.
  • Partner with Operations to strengthen product quality through effective training, validation, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Engage early in NPI programs, supporting seamless transfer into highvolume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate on capital investments, ensuring critical capital projects are successfully deployed and aligned with manufacturing needs.
  • Ensure that all metrology tools meet required standards by managing GR&R studies, maintaining compliance with quality policies, and performing LTS reviews for metrology tool health.
