About The Position

Our aerospace bearing and seal products consist of rolling element airframe bearings and bearing tooling sold under the Shafer® and Tri-Roller® brand names, Teflon lined polymeric bearings sold under the Tuflite® brand name, slotted entry, split ball and split race bearings sold under the PSI® brand name, self-lubricating machinable lined bearings and coatings sold under the Rexlon® brand name and mechanical seals sold under the Cartriseal® brand name. Gears and electrical components sold under the Micro Precision® brand name. Our global customer base includes all major engine and airframe OEMs, as well as major Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers to the engine and airframe OEM’s and through our FAA approved repair stations we support major MRO and aircraft operators with repair and overhaul capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Preferably in Engineering, Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ year mfg experience in metal cutting, grinding, machining, lapping, honing, and or assembly
  • 5+ years in manufacturing automation systems, single point and large-scale systems preferred, conceptualize, design, procure, commission
  • 5+ years of team leadership/supervisor experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Lean, 6S, DMAIC, and other standard recognized Lean manufacturing methodologies, application of said and reporting metrics.
  • Excellent project management capabilities from idea generation to implementation
  • Ability to develop teams for greater business success
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to identify, select, and implement new capital equipment into the facility to support business needs
  • Team player that has the capabilities to work with other functions
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge with practical application experience
  • Experience with ERP systems – manufacturing functions
  • Drive for Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, diverse work environment
  • Proven track record of utilizing sound problem solving skill set and root cause analysis as method of metric driven performance improvements
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to lead/drive through the change management cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor Manufacturing Engineering and Development teams
  • Expose and implement process improvement and new technology to improve mfg cost, increase throughput, reduce lead times, and reduce scrap
  • Develop and maintain metrics for Manufacturing engineering, development, and programming dept
  • Oversee key projects that support the manufacturing processes and processes for new products
  • Oversee annual CI (Continuous Improvement), AIP (Annual Improvement Plan) for cost savings as a metric
  • Oversee and lead the Project Management Planner for all open and future projects
  • Identify, develop and implement new capital for the business that support annual business priorities.
  • Work in cross functional capacity across the Aerospace Division encompassing Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, New Product Development, and Engineering on troubleshooting problems and developing error proof solutions.
  • Provide guidance and support during design reviews to address product manufacturing issues: process routings, machining capabilities, etc
  • Procure needed expense items to support manufacturing operations
  • Address DMR’s, routing issues, and design changes that could affect manufacturing processes or machines
  • Manager of Manufacturing Engineering is fully responsible for ensuring process competency and audit acceptance of the following AS9100 Quality Clauses: 7.5.1.2 (Control of Production Process Changes), 7.5.1.3 (Control of Production Equipment, Tools and Software Programs), 7.5.1 (Footnote - Planning Shall Consider, as Appropriate), 7 (Product Realization), 7.1.2 (Risk Management)
