About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team of technical professionals in implementing cost reduction projects and launching new products. This role involves providing management tools, guidance, mentoring, and hands-on participation to the technical team. The manager will coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans, and overseeing the integration of technical activities. Responsibilities include analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand to assess project feasibility, as well as planning and directing the installation, testing, and technical operation of equipment. The role also involves recruiting, directing, and evaluating staff, contributing to the company's annual budget, and owning the multi-year capital investment plan. Additionally, the manager will develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering department, administer functions such as report writing and expenditure approval, and oversee the creation of production methods and standards for Covercraft production.

Requirements

  • Computer skills – strong Microsoft Office Suite, CAD.
  • Communication written and verbal to all levels of employees.
  • Read and English.
  • 5 years of experience as an engineer
  • 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of IATF and ISO quality standards
  • Four-year technical college degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Coding and/or PLC programming a plus.
  • 5 years of experience as a supervisor/manager preferred.
  • Engineering degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technical professionals to implement cost reduction projects of all kinds and launch new products.
  • Provide management tools, guidance, mentoring, and hands on participation to/with the technical team.
  • Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
  • Plan and direct the installation, testing, and technical operation of equipment.
  • Recruit employees; assign, direct and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Contribute the company’s annual budget.
  • Own the multi-year capital investment plan.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
  • Responsible for administrating functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditure, enforcing rules and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
  • Oversee the creation of production methods and standards as they apply to the manufacture of Covercraft production and assure the utilization, within the spectrum of authority of initiated changes and equipment.
  • Responsible for exempt and non-exempt employee performance appraisals.
