About The Position

As a Manager of Production Engineering, you will inspire, develop, coordinate, support, and lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers supporting manufacturing. You will be responsible for leveraging design for manufacturability and continuous improvement to deliver space-grade structures, propulsion hardware, and electrical components at high rate and low cost, without ever compromising personnel safety or product reliability. You will serve as the advocate for your team and the technical subject matter expert between production and design engineering to ensure that both have the resources they need to succeed. You will develop and sustain a vision for growth and development of both the members of your team and the capabilities of the manufacturing areas. A successful candidate for this role will demonstrate integrity, intellectual curiosity, empathy, technical capability, and a strong motivation to support production. This position's internal job code is Production Engineering Manager. Our team is currently hiring for Level K.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering.
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
  • Technical knowledge & experience in Structures, Propulsion Structures, or Propulsion Systems
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required

Nice To Haves

  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and propulsion systems
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries (Structures, Propulsion, Integration, or GSE)

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing teams to develop solutions so the floor can build and assembly product
