Fall 2026 Manufacturing Engineering Internship/Co-Op
About The Position
Join Marotta Controls’ Engineering internship/Co-Op Program and take your classroom knowledge into the real world of aerospace and defense. As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op, you’ll gain hands-on experience in design, production, quality, or test/development engineering while working alongside industry experts. You’ll apply manufacturing and mechanical engineering principles to real projects, receive mentorship, and present your work to senior leadership at the end of your rotation. Along the way, you’ll also network with other interns and employees through professional development and engagement events. Internships are available with a variety of teams across the Power and Actuation Business Unit, design, production, quality, or test/development engineering.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering program.
- Strong GPA and excellent grades in core engineering courses.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (Pro-E/Creo preferred).
- Detail-oriented, precise, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Availability to work full-time onsite beginning September 2026 through the end of December 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and analysis of electrical motor production processes and systems.
- Participate in fixture design.
- Assist with assembly procedures, technical documentation, and test reports.
- Contribute to design reviews and product improvement initiatives.
- Apply your 3D CAD skills (Pro-E/Creo preferred) in a fast-paced environment.
- Analyze Current and proposed production processes and suggest/implement continuous improvements
- Conduct Process Observations such as time studies
- Report out estimated and actual cost savings tied to continuous improvement efforts
- Create and implement equipment guides and controls
