The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op is a temporary, hands-on role designed for engineering students to gain real-world experience in a manufacturing environment. The co-op works alongside manufacturing engineers, production teams, and quality staff to support daily operations, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, the co-op helps analyze manufacturing processes, collect and interpret production data, and assist with improving safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance. Typical responsibilities include creating or updating work instructions, assisting with layout changes, supporting tooling and equipment improvements, participating in problem-solving activities, and helping implement lean manufacturing initiatives. The position provides exposure to machining, assembly, automation, and/or fabrication processes and emphasizes practical application of engineering principles. A successful Manufacturing Engineering Co-op develops technical skills, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and an understanding of how engineering decisions impact production efficiency and product quality. This role is for students pursuing degrees in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or related engineering fields who are seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
