About The Position

This position will support and improve manufacturing operations through process optimization, tooling design, equipment implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance across the plant. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving skills, experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments, and the ability to lead projects from concept through implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design, machine implementation, and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing data analysis.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation, robotics, vision systems, or assembly equipment preferred.
  • Experience with capital equipment projects and production launches.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, and industrial controls.
  • Experience supporting multiple production areas or facilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing metrics.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting process, equipment, and tooling issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and cost savings.
  • Design, develop, and implement tooling, fixtures, poka-yoke devices, and process improvements for existing and new production lines.
  • Create and modify manufacturing drawings, models, and layouts using CAD/NX or similar design software.
  • Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, process documentation, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Coordinate and support new equipment installations, line launches, validations, and process capability studies.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and drive corrective actions related to downtime, scrap, and efficiency losses.
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, and AME teams to resolve manufacturing concerns.
  • Support capital projects including equipment specifications, vendor coordination, installation oversight, and startup activities.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S, waste reduction, line balancing, and workflow optimization.
  • Assist in training production and maintenance personnel on new processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company manufacturing standards.
