About The Position

Overall Purpose : The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and improving the company's manufacturing processes and ensuring the highest levels of product quality, efficiency, and safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, design, and quality assurance, to implement solutions that enhance productivity and contribute to the company's overall success. Description of Key Responsibilities : Manufacturing Engineering Analyze and evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in terms of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. Develop and implement innovative manufacturing methods, tools, and systems to enhance production output and reduce waste. Provide technical guidance, training, set-up support, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., in support of all machining and fabrication operations. Provides clear programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements and material clamping methods. Checks parts for conformance to specifications. Design and implement production layouts, workflows, and assembly lines that optimize space utilization and minimize production bottlenecks. Work closely with the quality assurance team to establish and maintain quality control procedures and standards throughout the manufacturing process. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Provide technical support to production teams, assisting with the resolution of technical challenges and process optimization. Implement and oversee the use of performance metrics to track production efficiency, yield, and other relevant KPIs. Collaborate with suppliers to select and evaluate materials, components, and equipment for manufacturing processes. Participate in cross-functional teams for new product development and introduction, ensuring that manufacturing considerations are taken into account from the early stages. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in manufacturing engineering. Design Engineering Design polymer parts and components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or similar) Collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate requirements into manufacturable designs Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) reviews Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in polymers, plastics, or related industries
  • Strong CAD design experience (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with CNC machining or injection molding processes
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning
  • Experience with machining, molding, or fabrication processes for polymers
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and design challenges
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Practical problem-solving mindset (not just theory, someone who rolls up their sleeves)
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • Ability to balance design creativity with real-world manufacturability
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma or Lean certification (nice to have, not required)
  • Experience in the fluid sealing industry or related industries is advantageous.
